There are endless AI tools being released every week, but which ones are actually creating value and improving work?
Our new AI Toolbox series spotlights Seattle-area technologists and their favorite AI tools.
We checked in with Yifan Zhang, managing director at Seattle-based AI2 Incubator, to learn about how she’s using AI to capture meetings and automate tasks.
Favorite tool: Wispr Flow
- How she uses it: Dictate casual emails and Slack messages.
- Why she likes it: “It’s probably 2x-ed my speed of response, and I find myself increasingly reaching for voice dictation on all my apps and frustrated when that UI is not available.”
Favorite tool: Granola
- How she uses it: Meeting note-taking.
- Why she likes it: “I like how Granola incorporates my own notes and enhances them to add much more detail, without the overhead of video recording every meeting. As an investor, I have to context-switch often. Having access to Granola notes has been key to my productivity.”
Favorite tool: Vy, Vercept’s computer use agent
- How she uses it: Automate tasks.
- Why she likes it: “One example is using Vy to go through our AI House Luma page to help prioritize getting founders and AI engineers off the waitlist when space is limited for events.”
Favorite tool: ChatGPT
- Why she likes it: “I pay for the Pro version and use it for everything from deep research when I’m getting up to speed on certain industries to agent mode to help me summarize the backgrounds of new people that I’m meeting with each day.”
Favorite tool: Bolt and Lovable
- How she uses it: Creates internal tools for AI House, including a check-in app and matchmaking database of AI2 Incubator founders and AI House experts.”
