Is Amazon priming little kids for future careers as delivery drivers?

The new, 92-page Amazon holiday gift catalog features a ride-on delivery van suitable for kids ages 2 and up. The blue van with the Prime logo on the side has a seat on top and a handle — perfect for kids to scoot around and deliver packages to other children in the neighborhood.

It does come with three little Amazon boxes which feature wooden toy vehicles inside. The van’s cargo area is under the seat. Maybe it can be loaded with books for a real throwback Amazon vibe. Otherwise, pack it with batteries and toilet paper — two of the hottest sellers on the e-commerce site.

The van, by longtime toy wagon maker Radio Flyer, sells for $46 online. Customer reviews average 4.8 out of five stars, with plenty of people commenting about how tickled their kids are while pretending to make deliveries.

Foot power is about as sustainable as it gets, so the vans should help with Amazon’s push to achieve net-zero carbon emissions across its global operations by 2040.

And finally, little 2-year-old delivery drivers are probably still in diapers, so the toy van is unlikely to need one controversial accessory — the alleged (and disputed) driver pee bottles that created such a public relations mess for the company several years ago.

Hat tip to GeekWire contributor Frank Catalano for sharing images and intel from the new catalog.
