Seattle-based application delivery and security giant F5 has acquired Fletch, a San Francisco startup founded in 2020 that uses AI to help companies spot threats and reduce alert fatigue. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

  • F5 will integrate Fletch’s “agentic AI capabilities” into its platform, according to a blog post. “This is a big leap forward for intelligent, AI-native security,” said Kunal Anand, F5 chief innovation officer.
  • Fletch raised $12.5 million two years ago in a Series A round led by True Ventures. It has 15 employees; 13 will join F5.
  • Fletch CEO Grant Wernick co-founded the company with Jacob Perkins, who departed in 2023. They previously started Insight Engines and Weotta.
  • “By leveraging AI and years of natural language processing know-how, we help organizations translate complex data into clear, human-readable tasks, enabling faster and smarter decision-making,” Wernick said in the blog post.
