Seattle-based travel giant Expedia Group will cut 162 workers in Washington state according to a filing Wednesday with the Employment Security Department.

The layoffs, confirmed earlier this week, will take place April 1-19, the company said in a letter accompanying its Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification.

A variety of roles will be impacted, including product managers, software development engineers, user experience designers, data engineers, content designers, and others.

“We are eliminating roles as well as opening some new roles as we remain disciplined about assessing the skills we need for the future,” an Expedia spokesperson previously said in a statement. “We are also simplifying our structure and reducing organizational layers to move faster and with more accountability. These are not easy decisions, and we are grateful for the contributions of our colleagues who are impacted.”

The latest reductions add to a series of workforce cuts at the online travel company over the past two years.

Expedia went through multiple rounds of layoffs in 2024 and 2025, including one round last year that reportedly impacted about 3% of its workforce.

The company had 16,500 employees across nearly 50 countries at the end of 2024, according to its most recent annual filing.
