We’ve had you identify games just based on a screenshot of their open world, but could you do the same if I made the quiz a little more specific? Maybe test your water hazard knowledge?

Want to keep testing your knowledge of gaming trivia? We’ve got loads more PC Gamer quizzes, on everything from healthbars to weird currencies to absurd patch notes.

Well, I plan to do just that, so turn back now if big bodies of open water activate your fight-or-flight. I won’t judge you (they do the same thing to me), but I delight in terrifying myself into clenching every muscle in my body. Remember the Sea Hag from Tomb Raider Chronicles? She must’ve given me my first tension headache.

Anyway, the lakes, oceans, and various water levels in games aren’t always scary. In fact, most games on this list aren’t, and I’ve sampled a bit of everything to include water in all its shapes. Some answers are here just because they’re serene eye candy, while others are memorably nasty. They may not share a common theme either, so be ready to recall games with water exploration as a focus, and games that hardly let you dip a toe in.

Now that you’ve been briefed, will you sink or swim? You’ve got 10 minutes to identify 15 games by a screenshot of their water. When you’re done, let us know how you did! I’ll be over here rooting for you from a safe distance in the shallow end.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.
