Lies of P studio Nough, formerly Round8, has released a 16-minute mini documentary about its culture and work on the Lies of P series, including development anecdotes and talk of the developers’ ambitions for Lies of P’s in-production sequel.
But first, the name change: According to the video description, Nough is “upholding the development philosophy of Round8 Studio and operating under the motto ‘Games by Gamers.'”

It’s not entirely clear to me whether Nough is a full rebrand of Round8, or rather spun off from the original company, itself a subsidiary of publisher Neowiz. The end result is the same as far as we’re concerned, I think: The people who made Lies of P are Nough now, a portmanteau of “Not Enough.” Neat.

The studio is still tight lipped about the Lies of P sequel, which we know is in full production, but has yet to get a formal reveal or even name. The Nough devs were very open about their ambitions to make a bigger, better game, though.
“From the very start, my goal has been to create the world’s greatest action game,” said combat director Lee Jeonghyeon. “And we’re getting there, one step at a time.”
Overall director Choi Jiwon said that the team wants to match the passion they brought to Lies of P, and make a game they’d like to play. “The players can always tell,” Choi said. “As a gamer myself, I know they can tell when a game has been made with real dedication.”
Choi concluded the video by calling on fans to trust the process. “We’re giving everything we have to make it the best it can be,” said Choi. “So please wait just a little bit longer. We won’t let you down. I promise.”
A big portion of the video’s runtime was dedicated to the unique way Nough tested Lies of P and Overture, and continues to test the unnamed sequel. Choi streams a playtest of the game to the company at major milestones, showing how it’s coming together.
More periodically, Nough has a “Game Day” where the entire studio puts aside regular work to play as much of the current build as possible, then fills a survey about the experience. According to the documentary, this feedback resulted in Lies of P’s difficulty modes, as well as major cuts and a story shift on Overture.
This approach seems to be working out. While PCG news writer Lincoln Carpenter liked but didn’t love Lies of P in his 74% review, I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Overture expansion.
