Longtime FromSoftware dataminer Zullie the Witch has come out with a new video showing off the close-up details of Elden Ring’s two new NPC invaders. Knight Leontiel and Noble Broken Mask were both added to the game as part of Elden Ring’s Tarnished Edition DLC.

Watch On

Knight Leontiel is a straight “hey, I know them” reference to Lucatiel of Mirrah from Dark Souls 2, boasting an HD remaster of her signature conquistador fit and nimble greatsword. Take off the mask, though, and Leontiel practically is Lucatiel, even down to a burn mark over her left eye that corresponds to the hollowing rot Lucatiel suffered in Dark Souls 2.

Noble Broken Mask, meanwhile, may obliquely give us a better idea of what his base game counterpart and spiritual rival, Goldmask, is supposed to look like. Goldmask’s model has a face, but it seems like a generic placeholder element. Broken Mask has an austere, pinched face with striking pale gold eyes, and Zullie points out that he bears a more than passing resemblance to the typically obscured faces of Elden Ring’s perfumer enemies.

Zullie provides character creation slider information for the two so you can perfectly recreate either one as your own guy—most FromSoft NPCs are made using the same tools available to players. This is not the first time Zullie has done this: She has previously made videos zooming in on Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree’s NPCs. All the way back in 2016, she did the same for Dark Souls 3’s cast.

Even with everything coming out right now, it’s kind of a great time to revisit Elden Ring thanks to the Tarnished Edition. Even if you don’t shell out for the new stuff, the servers will be more populated for the next few weeks than they likely ever will be again. And if you need help finding the new Tarnished Edition gear, PCG guides writer Sean Martin has got you covered.
