Picking the best talents in Star Wars Zero Company is something you’ll start pondering when you unlock recruitable operators in the game. Each of these will have both a class and a talent, but the good news is that you can respec both in the change specialization menu once you’ve recruited them.

This means it’s usually a better idea to recruit a character you like the look of, versus one with a talent you can tweak anyway. Some of these talents have a very clear and strong synergy with Zero Company’s specializations, so I’ll run through all available talents and talent levels below, plus give my top picks for each class.

Assault

A Life of Labor, Grit

Gunslinger

Anticipation, Grit, A Life of Labor

Heavy

Taunt, Grit, Anticipation

Medic

Anticipation, Espionage, Thievery

Scoundrel

Anticipation, Cold-Blooded

Scout

Anticipation, Sabotage, Espionage, Thievery

Sharpshooter

Cold-Blooded, The Bigger They Are…

Soldier

A Life of Labor, Grit

Personally, I think the top-tier talents for any class are Life of Labor, Anticipation, and Grit. The former grants an all-round stat boost that’s useful to pretty much every class, while the latter two give you ways to straight-up avoid damage. Anticipation, in particular, lets you dodge three attacks per turn at its highest level, which is somewhat cracked.

There are some obvious synergies between talents and classes, though. For example, the Heavy—a class all about taking hits—benefits from Taunt, Anticipation, or Grit, because it gives them a way to mitigate the damage more. Single-target focused Sharpshooters also benefit from Cold-Blooded, since you can combine the guaranteed crit with their guaranteed hit ability, or The Bigger They Are… to make them better at picking off elites.

And for more support-based classes like Medic or Scout, you can give them a way to avoid damage when out reviving someone with Anticipation, or make them support your wallet, too, by having them farm credits or intel with Thievery and Espionage respectively. I like giving Scout the Sabotage talent, which is incredibly situational, but feels very thematic, like they planted explosives before combat began.
