Crimson Desert is the hugely anticipated single player debut from Pearl Abyss, the South Korean studio responsible for Black Desert Online. To say Crimson Desert is causing waves is a bit of an understatement at this point: basically every social media platform is flooded with footage of its sprawling open world, and our Harvey Randall came away from a six hour preview session quite enthused.

Crimson Desert releases in Australia on March 20 at 9am. Pre-orders are open now ahead of launch, and unusually, only one storefront is offering a significant discount on the action-adventure. That may change in the coming days, but in the meantime, as you’ll see below, Fanatical is the best place to buy Crimson Desert for PC at present.

That’s true if you’re after the digital edition. Unusually, Crimson Desert is also getting a physical deluxe edition, though it’ll cost you: Amazon is selling it for AU$134, down from the AU$139.95 RRP.

Without further ado, here is the best place to buy Crimson Desert in Australia at time of writing. These prices may change as we draw closer to release.

Crimson Desert in Australia – digital

These prices may change over the coming weeks; if we notice that they have, we’ll dutifully update the page.

It’s rare for modern PC games to get physical editions, but Crimson Desert is an exception and, wow, it actually looks pretty decent. It’s unlikely these will be available for long.

In addition to everything that comes with the digital deluxe edition (see below) you’re getting:

  • Deluxe Edition Exclusive Steelbook (note that the game itself comes as a Steam key)
  • Letter for the Developer
  • Greymane Brooch Pin
  • 3 character photo cards
  • 3 patches
  • Map of Pywel

…and here’s who’s selling it:

  • Amazon for AU$134 (incl. shipping)
  • JB Hi-Fi for AU$134 (excl. shipping)
  • The Gamesmen for AU$139.95 (excl. shipping)

What’s in the digital deluxe edition of Crimson Desert and is it worth it?

The Crimson Desert deluxe edition doesn’t seem at all worthwhile, unless you take a particular liking to the horse and human outfits it includes. AU$15 for digital cosmetics isn’t worth it in my opinion, but maybe you’ll disagree.

Here’s what’s included:

  • Kairos Plate Helm
  • Kairos Plate Gloves
  • Kairos Plate Boots
  • Kairos Cloak
  • Kairos Plate Armor
  • Balgran Shield
  • Exclaire Champron (horse tack set)
  • Exclaire Barding (horse tack set)
  • Exclaire Saddle (horse tack set)
  • Exclaire Stirrups (horse tack set)

All pre-orders will get the Khaled Shield, whether for the standard or deluxe edition of the game.
