Grand Theft Auto 6 is finally doing a gameplay reveal (it’s definitely a gameplay reveal, right?) and it’s going to drop on Netflix first. If you’ve been cutting back on subscriptions in your life then you’re going to have to wait a few extra hours for it to land on YouTube with the rest of us unwashed, unsubscribed masses. Recent events in GTA 6 news have proved that there’s simply no possible way to see any information about this thing on the internet before Rockstar wants you to, sorry! Here’s when and where you get to watch based on your monthly fee status.

When is the GTA 6 gameplay reveal?

The GTA 6 gameplay reveal premieres first on Netflix at 3 pm Eastern / 8 pm UK time on Thursday, August 27. You can find it listed as “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look” on Netflix. The gameplay reveal will land on the Rockstar YouTube channel six hours later at 9 pm Eastern / 2 am August 28 in the UK.

What can we expect from the GTA 6 reveal?

We’re sure expecting to see some real, officially-sanctioned gameplay. If I don the tinfoil hat for a second I might point out that Rockstar has not said “gameplay” in all this stuff about Netflix. It’s been an “extended look” and “debut the next part of the Grand Theft Auto story,” in all the official communication. But it’s going to be a gameplay reveal.

Rockstar also hasn’t said how long this extended look is going to be. Everyone armchair guestimating online seems to be suggesting 20-30 minutes which, yeah, is a pretty safe bet for a single game showcase.

Otherwise, Netflix’s mention of the GTA story suggests we’re probably going to get some more snippets of Jason and Lucia cutscenes. As these things often go, it’ll likely also have flyover shots, a bit of gameplay interspersed, and a lot of voiceover walking us through GTA 6 features like a museum curator for the next evolution in gaming.
