New Day RP has just celebrated its fifth birthday, and now the GTA roleplay server has outlined its plans heading into 2026.

Before digging into the specifics of what’s to come, it’s worth saying up front that New Day RP might just be my favourite Grand Theft Auto roleplay server at the moment. For me, it’s certainly the most accessible and rewarding, and, as someone now approaching their 10th year of farting around in GTA RP, I’ve been around the block a wee bit.

Yes, New Day offers law enforcement and emergency services—the same sought-after jobs that are commonplace in just about every RP server the world over—but you’re just as likely to find yourself simply drifting between regular community events such as open mic nights, themed gatherings, and the now-established Taco Tequila Tuesday.

On its forums, the New Day team points to ongoing work around governance systems—tweaks to elections, public services, and how departments interact—as well as continued backend improvements aimed at smoothing the day-to-day experience for players. There’s also a clear focus on supporting the server’s existing ecosystem, and expanding opportunities within departments such as Parks and Recreation.

To the latter end, here’s an update from Viv Chopper, head of the server’s San Andreas Parks Department: “As we move further into the year, I just wanted to share a few updates from the San Andreas Parks Department.

“We’re now coming to the end of our last Apprentice Ranger hiring round, and you’ve probably already started spotting some of our new Rangers out in the field! We’re really excited to have them join SAPD and are looking forward to seeing them settle into their new roles over the coming weeks.

“With that round nearly wrapped up, we’ll soon be turning our attention to Parks Employee recruitment. From Monday 23rd March, Parks applications will open and will work in a similar way to how we’ve just handled Ranger hiring. Applications will stay open until we’ve got enough in to begin reviewing, and then they’ll be paused while we work through that round.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

“Once successful Parks Employee applicants have been brought onboard, they’ll have 30 days to complete their required training. After that, we’ll return to reviewing Ranger applications again.”

Chopper adds that seasonal hunting, should this tickle your fancy, is now open—with those interested encouraged to find out more in this direction.

And so with so many GTA RP servers these days becoming increasingly complicated—sometimes with the best of intentions and with good results—there’s something refreshing about the simplicity with which New Age handles itself. Whether you’re after bite-sized sessions or marathon meet-ups, I recommend giving it a whirl. Here’s to the next five years.
