As reported by IGN and DotEsports, German Counter-Strike 2 player MAUschine has been banned from the CAGGTUS Leipzig tournament for 10 years for striking his opponent, Fabian “Spidergum” Salomon, after a heated match.

Influencer Jake Lucky shared a video to X of the moment MAUschine socked Spidergum during the awards portion of the tournament: Spidergum’s glasses flew off, and MAUschine moved on to shake other players’ hands without missing a beat—the brass balls on this guy—as the presenter quickly realized something was wrong.

In a video shared by ClipsGD on X, MAUschine apparently explains his reasoning for punching Spidergum. We haven’t translated the video from German at this time, but MAUschine clearly had some objection to Spidergum shouting the phrase “papichulo”—potentially the Spanish “papi chulo”—after winning a match against MAUschine’s team. IGN and esports observer Rod Breslau noted that this was MAUschine’s own catchphrase or alias, repeated back to him mockingly.

Tournament organizers Dach CS Masters acted quickly to censure MAUschine. “We do not tolerate physical assaults against other players at LAN and have acted accordingly,” the organization wrote in a tweet on X. “MAUschine is banned for at least 10 years and the incident has additionally been reported to [the Esports Integrity Commission]. In case it wasn’t clear, we think violence has no place in our league.”

If the tournament victory, a 10-year ban, and potentially further consequences weren’t enough, Spidergum definitely got the last laugh with this sick burn on Twitter: “Bullseye from MAUschine,” he wrote. “Better aim than with the AWP and especially on stream.”
