How to get the Rascal in Arc Raiders

The Rascal is a new gun randomly dropped in Arc Raiders’ 1.29.0, alongside the Nomadic Envoy rotating trader. This little pocket-sized rocket launcher (it’s adorable) is designed to be a cheaper, easier-to-maintain alternative to the Hullcracker. It’s a reliable anti-Arc sidearm, and we certainly need it with how dangerous the Riven Tides map is.

So, how do you get the Rascal? While the patch notes suggest Tian Wen sells it, that’s unfortunately not the case—apparently she just crafted a bunch and stowed them in containers throughout Topside, laughing maniacally as she did. You’ll need to put in some work to get this grenade launcher and its blueprint, plus a little luck.

The Rascal is a rare (blue) quality weapon, so it can spawn in basically all the usual hot loot spots—there’s no set location, as was the case with the Dolabra and Canto. I recommend looting inside locked key rooms, opening Security Breach cabinets (you need the skill of the same name), and doing Beachcombing on the Riven Tides map. The long gun cases will also be a pretty good option, since these regularly spawn blue weapons.

These activities have a higher chance of giving you rare items like the new Rascal, especially after the recent buff to key rooms. Likewise, the Night Raid or Hurricane modifiers, which offer increased loot value, will also have a higher drop chance.

In fact, while Riven Tides has the fewest number of Security Breach lockers with just nine, you can combine it with Beachcombing if the match is quiet enough. With a bit of luck, you’ll get the Rascal blueprint in just a few attempts. YouTuber ‘TooFumed’ has a playlist of all the Security Breach locations that I recommend you watch.

If you’re looking for the blueprint, it’s also worth keeping an eye on the new Nomadic Envoy Trader, as he sells blueprints, which rotate over time, and he might well get one for this gun.

If you find the Rascal blueprint, you’ll need the following materials to craft it:

Given that the Rascal is intended to be a more affordable Hullcracker, don’t expect the same performance. It’s got only one shot in the chamber and a painfully slow reload, though upgrading it speeds this up. It’s also pretty inaccurate, so I recommend using it against larger Arcs like Bastions or Bombardiers that are harder to miss. It’ll kill a Shredder, my archnemesis, in three shots, which is worth it to me.
